In this picture you can see where the house will sit and how far the basement will stick up out of the ground. We're building up another two feet on the far end so I don't think it will look bad at all. There will also be a screened porch/deck on the majority of the front of the house so you won't really see any basement walls in the front.
The inner workings of the wall.
This will be the final elevation on the end of the house. The basement bedroom windows will be above ground so no water can get in those or snakes in the window wells, etc.
